Show and Tell, materials list
Student can start to cut out stencil
Paper, pencil, eraser, tracing paper
Class 2
Stencil Printing
Xacto #11 blades, stencil brushes, fabric paint, 3 yards of muslin washed in Synthropol and ironed
Muslin

Class 3
Cut out and make block prints and other impression printing
Block printing
Linoleum tools if you have them, xacto tool and blades
Silk Screen and Squeegee, washed muslin

Class 4
Silk screening with stencil
Screen, squeegee, washed muslin

Classes 5-7
Basic dying methods and painting with dyes, discharge dying
Measuring cup with ounces if you have one, mixing tools like tongue depressors or old spoons, mask, rubber bands, gallon size Ziploc bags, gloves, trash bags, string, PVC, squeeze & squirt bottles, large trash bag

Classes 8
Batiking, over dying
Old electric frying pan or pot with temp. Control (only if you have one) cheap plastic embroidery hoop, newspapers, plastic grocery bags

Class 9 &10
Finish projects, Students choice
*newspapers, gloves, plastic bags for all classes

ACEC
Create a Holiday Card (4 sessions)
Create and print one-of-a-kind greeting cards with your own personal style. Express your thoughts, designs, and ideas using both picture and word. Make holiday cards that are sure to impress your friends and family. Use different techniques each week to create cards better than anything you could buy. Have a blast making them. LAB FEE OF $8 IS NONREFUNDABLE.

Syllabus and supplies for Greeting Card Class

The object of this class is to have fun, be relaxed and produce wonderful greeting cards.  You will need paper and a paint medium.  Other supplies are if you have them already or if you have an interest in using them in the future. 

Week 1
Mixed media
Fabrics, glues,paper, ribbons, scissors, and embellishments

Week 2
Stenciling, Stamping
Silkscreen demonstration
Stencil material, block printing ink, stamp pad ink, stencil brushes
Silkscreen, squeegee, paper, silkscreen ink, xacto knife and blades

Week 3
Spraying, printing
Nature painting
Smooth tiles, brayer, block printing inks, tube water colors, acrylics


Week 4
Sponges, straws
Calligraphic tools
Sponges, straws, calligraphy pens
Water color brushes

Design your own fabric. Explore a variety of methods for applying paints and dyes to fabric in
a studio setting. Learn many different techniques, including batik, silk screening, stamping, block
printing and fabric painting. Produce original fabric designs as well as expand different types of
dying treatments.
