Joan Aaronson

Joan currently is teaching art classes at Ringling College of Art and Design in the Healing Arts Program. She also teaches art for The Sarasota Adult Education Program. Aaronson is represented at The Peter Paul Gallery, Sarasota, Florida. She is part of The Art in Embassy Program receiving a State Department grant as Art Ambassador to Rwanda, Africa. It was a life changing experience to teach the survivors of the genocide and have work on tour at the American Consulate in Havana, Cuba for three years.. In recognition she was invited to the White House where she had breakfast with Laura Bush and dinner with Colin Powell. Joan believes in using and teaching art as a universal language. She also designed for Princess Mirah of Bali Fabric for ten years. Aaronson started the first accredited Fiber Arts program at Cape Cod Community College.
